BBK DAV College for Women continued its winning streak and lifted the overall championship trophy in Zonal Youth Festival (‘A’ Zone) of GNDU held from 1st to 4th Nov, 2018 in Jalandhar.
The College won the championship trophy by scoring 139 marks and grabbing 31 positions in 33 events. Participants made their mark by winning 1st position in 14 events, namely Group Bhajan, Quiz, Mime, Skit, One Act Play, Group Song, Vaar Singing, Kavishree, Poetical symposium, Poster Making, Rangoli, Classical Dance, Giddha and Classical Vocal, 2nd position in 12 items namely Folk Song, Folk Orchestra, Classical Non-Percussion, Western Solo, Western Group, General Dance, Elocution, On the Spot Painting, Debate, Costume Parade, Collage and Phulkari and 3rd position in 5 items namely Mimicry, Clay Modeling, Installation, Cartooning and Photography.
It is pertinent to note that this year college has won this trophy with a huge margin of 39 points.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the Youth Welfare Department on putting in its best efforts. She further said that the college has been proud winner of GNDU zonal trophy for decades altogether. The college artists have always remained in the forefront, in all the fields of cultural activities.
As the Championship trophy arrived in the college, the whole campus became abuzz with excitement.
Sh. Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee, S. Mohinderjit Singh, Member LMC, Mr. Naresh Kumar, Dean Youth Welfare, Mrs. Mandeep Sodhi and Dr. Lalit Gopal, Associate Deans, along with all office bearers, faculty and students, felicitated the winners.
