The Eco Club of BBK DAV College for Women organizes a tree plantation drive as a part of the Environment Education Programme funded by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh, under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India on 29th April 2024. In this drive, about 20 native plants of various species like Keekar, Sheesham, Mango etc. were planted in the college campus. Additionally, the Principal along with the students and the staff of the college pledged their commitment to fostering a pollution-free environment.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the members of Eco Club for their proactive initiative and encouraged the students to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities aimed at cultivating green and sustainable communities.
Members of the Eco Club Dr. Rashmi Kalia, Dr. Shweta Mohan, Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal, Ms. Surbhi Sethi and Dr. Sahil Gupta were also present during the event.
The college expressed its gratitude to the Dean of College Development Council, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar for providing support towards this noble cause, and ensuring the success of this initiative.
