Wrestling Team of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar won the GNDU Wrestling Inter-College Championship held at GNDU Campus, Amritsar, on October 22, 2019. The college team put up a splendid show and defeated HMV College, Jalandhar, GNDU Campus, Amritsar and SD College, Jalandhar, Doaba College, Jalandhar, RRMK College, Pathankot, SD College, Pathankot, DAV College, Phagwara and SSM College, Dinanagar.
Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, LMC, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Mr. Sartaj Singh Chahal, Additional Commissioner of Police, Amritsar and Mrs. Alka Kalia, SDM, Amritsar congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. The Principal added that the college players have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV remains a forerunner in sports. Team members are Ms. Pawanpreet Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, Jobanjit Kaur, Jashanbir Kaur, Kavita and Amrit Kaur. Four players have been selected for All India Inter-University Championship to be held at Bhiwani, Haryana from Nov. 05 to 07, 2019.
Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, Ms. Gaganpreet Kaur and Rajdeep Kaur felicitated the players on their achievements.
