BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organized a special Havan Yajna to seek divine blessings at the beginning of the academic session 2026–27 for a successful and purposeful year ahead. Amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras and offerings to the sacred fire, Adv. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairperson, Local Committee, and Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, along with members of the Local Committee, the teaching and non-teaching staff as well as students.
Expressing gratitude to the Almighty, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia prayed for the institution’s continued growth and excellence. She emphasized the importance of Indian culture and values, stating that educational institutions must foster academic excellence along with moral and ethical values. She added that BBK DAV College for Women remains committed to this tradition through value-based education.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the faculty and students on the college’s distinguished performance in the India Today Best Colleges Ranking 2026 and the recent University examinations. She also highlighted the institution’s recent achievements, including the Eco-Visionary Leadership Award, Sustainable Campus Award, Energy and Resource Management Excellence Award, District Green Championship Award, National Social Responsibility Award 2026, and the Best Principal Award 2026.
Congratulating the Principal on the commencement of the new academic session and the institution’s remarkable achievements, Shri Inderpal Arya of Arya Samaj, Laxmansar, addressed the students on the significance of Havan Yajna and its values.
Adv. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairperson, Local Advisory Committee, highlighted the importance of the Gayatri Mahamantra as a source of wisdom and enlightenment. He further extended his best wishes to the students for a successful academic journey ahead.
The Department of Music presented a soulful bhajan during the programme.
The occasion was also graced by the presence of Shri Sandeep Ahuja and Shri Deepak Mahajan, Arya Samaj, Shakti Nagar, Shri Atul Mehra, Arya Samaj, Model Town, Shri Anil Vinayak, Arya Samaj, Lawrence Road, Principal Dr. Pallavi Sethi, DAV Public School, Amritsar, Smt. Shachi and the members of the Arya Yuvati Sabha along with the teaching and non-teaching staff members of the college.
The Havan concluded with the recitation of Shanti Path and distribution of Prasad.
