BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar organized a workshop on Domestic Baking of Breads, Buns and Cookies, that was conducted by Chef Ishant Ahuja with Technical Support from Punjab General Mills India Pvt. Ltd, Pillsbury for the students of B.Voc (Beauty & Fitness) Sem-III and B.A. (H.Sc.) Sem-V. The students were given demonstration on baking of multi-grain bread, Chocolate cake, Burger buns, Pizza base and Cookies. The resource person explained the related terms viz Kneading, Punching, Rolling and Proofing in detail. Looking at the current trends, students were inspired to take over commercial baking as a part of their career. Dr. Poonam Rampal, Head, Department of Home Science, Dr. Binu Kapoor and Mrs. Sweety Bala, Co-ordinators, B. Voc (Beauty and fitness), Mrs. Amarpreet, Ms. Savita, Ms. Deepika were also present. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia motivated the staff and the students for conducting the workshop.
