BBK DAV College for Women participated & won the maximum number of first positions as a single institution in the State Level Dera Baba Nanak Online Youth Festival organised by Govt. of Punjab as a part of the celebrations of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The festival was open to all the universities and colleges in Punjab.
BBK DAV College won First Position in Shabad (Group), Shabad (Solo), Poetry Singing (Solo), Line Art (Sketch) and Third Position in Essay (Solo). The winners were rewarded with cash prizes of Rs. 71,000 (First Position – group), Rs. 51,000 (First Position – solo) and Rs. 21,000 (Third Position – solo) by S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Minister, Cooperation and Jails, at an award function organised at Dera Baba Nanak.
Congratulating the winners, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that Online Youth Festival was a wonderful initiative by Govt. of Punjab and it played a pivotal role in sensitizing the Youth about the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Mr. Naresh Kumar, Dean, Youth Welfare Department, Dr. Sunita Sharma, Associate Dean, Dr. Ritu Sharma, Ms. Shaifali Johar, Department of Fine Arts, Dr. Priyanka Bassi, Dr. Rupinderpal Kaur and Ms. Richa Aneja were present in the award function.
