The college organizes Alumni Meet 2022

To foster a sense of community and connectedness among the college and its alumni, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar organized an Alumni Meet 2022 on March 12th, 2022. The motto of the meet was “Come and Relive your Memories” and the purpose was to revive and rejuvenate the old bonds. Alumni of the college, teaching and working in various schools of Punjab came to attend the meeting. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia welcomed warmly the Chief Guest Mrs. Radhika Tarun Chugh, Director, Institute for Skill Development, Amritsar, along with Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, LMC. She also welcomed Mrs. Aman, Principal, St. Soldier Elite Convent School, Chawinda Devi, Ms. Simmi Co-Ordinator, DAV Public School, Amritsar, Mrs. Anu Sharma, Principal and Director, Shining Stars school, Amritsar and Ms. Neena, Senior alumnus. This meet was a great opportunity to reconnect with the old students of the college and to relive the memories of the old days.

During her welcome address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, said that it is always very gratifying to find our students doing so well in the pious profession of teaching. She said that this alumni meet is a welcome initiative by Department of Higher Education and Languages, Govt. of Punjab, to strengthen the networking between Schools and Colleges, and that we should let this bond grow and develop, as it will let future students be a part of this great institution.

While addressing the gathering, Mrs Chugh said that the vision of Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojna is to encourage skill based education amongst under privileged children, and colleges should focus on skill based programmes to encourage self-employment amongst the youngsters. Feeling nostalgic, some of the alumni shared their memorable moments spent in college and attributed their success to the college and its faculty.

Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee, said that teachers leave an indelible  mark on the life of a student. Alumni are our trademark and the bond between alumni and institution should last forever.

Dr. Rani, Head, Department of Punjabi gave the vote thanks and the function concluded with a promise of meeting again. Dr. Anita Narinder, Dean Alumni conducted the stage while Dr. Shelly Jaggi, Nodal Officer, along with Associate Deans Mrs. Shaifali Johar, Dr. Neetu Bala, Dr. Rani, Dr. Priyanka Bassi, Mrs. Anterpreet and Dr. Aditi were also present on the occasion.
