The college in collaboration with Reserve Bank of India organizes a seminar on “Financial Literacy & Prevention of Frauds”

BBK DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Reserve Bank of India, organized a seminar on “Financial Literacy & Prevention of Frauds”. Mr. Lokesh Behl (AGM), RBI Chandigarh and Sh. Pritam Singh, Chief LDM & Mr. Umesh Jaitley, Financial Literary Counsellor were the resource persons in this seminar. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia extended a formal welcome to the guests. She emphasized that it is essential that everyone should be aware of financial knowledge and latest technology. By imparting this knowledge to the teachers, it can easily be conveyed to the students. She congratulated the PG Department of Commerce for organizing such seminars.

Mr. Umesh Jaitley enlightened everyone about the financial literacy and awareness regarding frauds. He further expounded on the relevance of savings in the wake of Covid-19.

Mr. Lokesh Behl apprised everyone of Financial Inclusion. He also alluded to the agenda of RBI to educate the people and students about financial issues. The aim was to give a deep insight on the topic of financial planning and loan to the faculty so that the information can be further transmitted to the students. He also gave a comprehensive knowledge about Ombudsman regarding Cyber frauds.

Sh. Pritam Singh acquainted the listeners with the importance of savings and diversification of investments. He elucidated on the emerging Cyber frauds and the consequent downfall of real estate. Mr. Umesh Jaitley concluded the session by providing the information regarding NPS and Reverse Mortgage.

The RBI team acknowledged the active participation of Dr. Neetu Bala, Mrs. Mandeep Bhatia, Mr. Deepak Khullar and Mrs. Binnie Sharma for organising seminar. Dr. Anjana Bedi presented vote of thanks and Mrs. Binnie Sharma compered the event. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia honoured the guests with mementoes.
