A special Vedic Havan Yagya was organized on the occasion of Arya Samaj Foundation Day and Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj Ji. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Management Committee and Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia acted as the Yajman.
With the chanting of ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah’, Principal Dr. Walia remarked that great souls are often born in dark times and they illuminate this world through their virtuous deeds. She added that the ten rules of Arya Samaj are a beacon of light not just for Arya Samaj but for the entire humanity. She also emphasized that Mahatma Hansraj ji’s incredible contribution, his relentless sacrifice and self-restraint is behind the holistic growth of DAV.While referring to the grave humanitarian crisis of COVID-19 pandemic, she said that man’s recklessness towards nature is responsible for this outbreak. Principal Dr. Walia welcomed Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor and expressed her gratitude for his benign blessings and unflinching support.
Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor thanked Principal Dr. Walia for her kind words. He said that life is an incessant struggle beset with vicissitudes but we should pray to God and thank Him for our edification to enable us to lead our lives righteously by doing good deeds.
Mr.Vijay Mehak of Deptt. of Music left everyone spellbound with his devotional bhajan “Bhajman Om… Sunder”. Dr. Shelly Jaggi, Department of Hindi and Mr. Vijay Mehak gave a musical performance in Devvani Sanskrit. Dr. Anita Narendra, Head, Department of Hindi thanked Principal Dr. Walia, Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Ms. Balbir Kaur Bedi and members of teaching and non-teaching staff for gracing the occasion with their presence.
