Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi in collaboration with the college organizes an Audio Visual presentation on  Sri Harmandir Sahib

To commemorate the 400th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Teg  Bahadur Sahib, Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi in collaboration with PG Department of Fine Arts, BBK DAV College for Women, organized an Audio Visual presentation on ‘Hermeneutics-Spaces and Concepts: In Context with Sri Harmandir Sahib’. Dr. Rawal Singh Aulakh, Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture, Guru Nanak Dev University was the resource person for the presentation. Mr. Diwan Manna, President, Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, Sh. Madan Lal, Secretary, Punjab Lalit kala Akademi, were present in the event.

While welcoming the guests, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, said that art is next to worship as it always comes from the soul. When an artist engages in creativity, she is utilizing an aspect of herself which reflects God. She added that Sikh gurus had a great sense for architectural aesthetics, and one of the reasons why we feel the presence of divinity while visiting Golden Temple because of its design and architecture.

While addressing the gathering, Dr. Rawal Singh Aulakh gave a presentation on the architecture of Shri Harmandir Sahib in context of spaces and concepts. In his presentation he spoke about the incorporation of Mool Mantra in the design, element and space division of Shri Harimandir Sahib by Guru Ram Das Ji.

In his address, Mr. Diwan Manna said that coming to Amritsar is always a divine experience. He added that Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, an autonomous body, promotes culture and art in Punjab and Chandigarh. He applauded the efforts of Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia for promoting art and culture in the young generation.

Mrs. Shefali Johar, Head, PG. Department of Fine Arts, Dr. Naresh, Dean , Youth Welfare, Dr. Shelly Jaggi, Nodal Officer, along with other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
