Department of Chemistry, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar organised a DBT sponsored guest lecture on “Designing Logic Gates At Nanoscale Level”. The resource person for guest lecture was Dr. Santanu K. Maiti, Associate Professor, Department of Physics and Mathematical Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Dr. Maiti had a lively interaction with students of B.Sc. Medical, B.Sc. Non-Medical and B.Sc. Biotechnology regarding importance of Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and concepts of logical operations at nanoscale level.
On the same day, a DBT sponsored power point presentation competition was conducted in which students of various science streams participated. Dr. Maiti evaluated PPTs and presented awards to the winners.
Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Principal of the college extended floral welcome to Dr. Maiti and congratulated the Head of Department, Dr. Poonam Khullar and faculty members- Ms. Vandana Gupta, Ms. Anu Saini, Ms. Rajpreet Kaur, Ms. Divya Mandial, Mrs. Lavanya Tandon, Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, Ms. Ravneet Kaur and Ms. Rajpreet Bhullar for the success of the lecture. In the end, the Principal honoured Dr. Maiti by presenting a memento.
