Department of Chemistry, BBK DAV College for Women, celebrated National Science Day by organizing DBT-sponsored Guest Lectures on “Science for a Better Living” and “The Beautiful Journey of Organic Chemistry.” The resource person for the Guest Lectures was Dr. Vandana Bhalla, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University.
Dr. Vandana had a lively & fruitful interaction with the students of B.Sc. Medical, B.Sc. Non-Medical and B.Sc. Biotechnology, regarding the importance and objectives of Science and Chemistry for a better living.
On the occasion, Dr. Vandana also enlightened the students about the life and achievements of Sir C.V. Raman, whose discovery of Raman effect is celebrated as National Science Day in India.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia honoured the guest with a memento and thanked her for her highly informative lectures. She also congratulated Dr. Poonam Khullar, Head of the Department and other faculty members-Ms. Vandana Gupta, Ms. Anu Saini, Ms. Lavanya Tandon, Ms. Rajpreet Kaur, Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, Ms. Ravneet Kaur and Ms. Aastha Aggarwal for the success of the programme.
