BBK DAV College Won All India Inter Zonal Pencak Silat Championship, 2019 with Seven Gold Medals, Eleven Silver Medals & Four Bronze Medals in different events i.e. (Indoor & Beach) Tending, Ganda, Regu and Tunngal. Karanbir Kaur, Baljot Kaur, Simarjit Kaur, Akneet Sagar, Lovely, Navdeep Kaur and Jasjeet Kaur won Gold Medals, Muskan, Pawandeep Kaur, Navjot Kaur, Rajbeer Kaur, Mamta, Chandanpreet Kaur, Neha Rani, Manpreet Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Kajal and Navneet Kaur won Silver Medals while Mandeep Kaur, Navjit Kaur, Bhinder Kaur & Mandeep Kaur won Bronze Medals. They participated in All India Inter Zonal Pencak Silat Championship held at GNDU Campus (Amritsar) from Feb. 8 to Feb. 10, 2019. They defeated South Zone, East Zone, North Zone, West Zone and North-East Zone. It is a very big achievement for the college, as out of 26 team members of North Zone team that participated in this championship, 23 players belong to BBK DAV College.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. She added that the college players have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV remains a forerunner in sports. She said the college was always ready to help players who can make the country and institution proud.
Sports Department H.O.D, Mrs. Sweety Bala, Coach Gagandeep Singh, Physical Education Department teachers Ms. Savita Kumari, Gaganpreet Kaur and other faculty members felicitated the players on their achievements.
