Pencak Silat Team of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar won the GNDU Pencak Silat Inter-College Championship held at GNDU campus, Amritsar on 15th January, 2020. The college team put up a splendid show and displayed the qualities of sportsmanship and played the game with utmost vigour defeating HMV College, Jalandhar, Khalsa College Amritsar, KMV College, Jalandhar, GNDU Campus, Amritsar, SD College, Gurdaspur, S.N College, Banga and SR Govt. College, Amritsar.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. The Principal added that the college players have never failed to raise the bar and have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV remains a forerunner in sports. The members of the team were Ms. Neha Rani, Manpreet Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Amardeep, Pawandeep Kaur, Navneet Kaur, Nisha Chaudhary, Bharti, and Muskan out of which Ms. Neha Rani, Manpreet Kaur, Amardeep, Pawandeep Kaur and Manpreet Kaur were selected for All India Intervarsity Pencak Silat Championship to be held at Karnataka from 21st to 23rd January, 2020.
Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education along with the Physical Education teachers Mrs. Amandeep Kaur, Ms. Savita Kumari, Mrs. Gagandeep Kaur and Mrs. Gursharan Kaur felicitated the players on their achievements.
