BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organized a special Vedic Havan Yajana to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Anand Swami ji. The Havan began with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra and concluded with a bhajan presented by the Music Department of the college.
In her address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia prayed that we all be imbued with the teachings of Mahatma Anand Swami ji and mentioned the titles of his books; she elucidated that his books are a retreat for mind and soul. She further added that his teachings convey the message that one can pursue the quest for salvation even while leading a domestic life. Principal Dr. Walia also praised Hon’ble Dr. Punam Suri, President, DAV CMC, who by virtue of being the grandson of Mahatma Anand Swami ji, is the essence of the ethos and values of Arya Samaj, and thus a rich source of inspiration.
Sh. Inderpal Arya, President of Arya Samaj, Lakshmansar, highlighted that Mahatma Anand Swami ji attained intuitive knowledge through the incessant chanting of Gayatri Mantra. He also talked about his teachings as a means to lead a righteous life.
Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, LMC, congratulated Principal Dr. Walia and members of the staff on the successful completion of the havan and highlighted the fact that Mahatma Anand Swami ji devoted his entire life to the service of Arya Samaj and humanity at large and is an inspiration for all of us.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Anita Narendra. Dr. Shelly Jaggi, Nodal Officer, Smt. Balbir Kaur Bedi, Col. Ved Mittal, Dr. Pallavi Sethi, Principal, DAV Public School, and faculty members of the college were present on the occasion.
