To commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj, a special Havan Yajna was organized in BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee was the Mukhya Yajman for the Havan Yajna.
The Havan concluded with the chanting of pious mantras and the singing of bhajan. In her address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that birth anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj reminds us of his great teachings, ideas, principles and sacrifices which he made for the cause of education in modern India. She added that a teacher’s influence can never be erased from one’s life. Education means empowerment as it makes us self-sustaining and independent. She encouraged students to focus on their studies as only education can make them independent and can help them in fulfilling their dreams.
Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor said that students should keep themselves away from laziness and jealousy and should concentrate on their studies.
Col. Ved Mittal, Member, Arya Samaj, Amritsar, Members of Arya Yuvti Sabha of the college, Dr. Shelly Jaggi, Nodal Officer along with other staff members of the college were also present during the yajna.
