Ms. Jasjeet Kaur and Ms. Naswinder Kaur of BBK brought laurels to their alma-mater by emerging winners in 4th Asian Championship 2018 (Men & Women), Indian Pencake Silat held at Srinagar J&K (India) from 03rd Sep. to 03rd Oct. 2018. Defeating participants from ten countries i.e. Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nepal and China in fight 65 kg to 70 kg category, BBK DAV’S Ms. Jasjeet Kaur won Bronze Medal whereas Ms. Naswinder Kaur beat Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore in her individual artistic tunngle.
Prior to that, they had won Gold and Silver medals in Sr. National Pencak Silat Championship and Federation Cup Pencake Silat Championship Competitions also.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Sports department H.O.D Mrs. Sweety Bala and various office bearers of the college, Mrs. Simardeep, Mrs. Mandeep Sokhi, Mrs. Rajni, Mrs. Kamayani and Mr. Sundeep Zutshi, Physical education department teachers Ms. Savita Kumari, Ms. Rajdeep Kaur and Sports Club members gave a warm Welcome to Silat players & congratulated them & their families. The College Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that the college is always ready to help players who can make the country and institution proud. She honored the players with bouquets and trophies. On this occasion, The Principal distributed sweets among students and staff also.
