To mark International Women’s Day, BBK DAV College for Women organized a special lecture. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Jaswinder Kaur Sohal, All India Advisor, National Minority Commission, Government of India.
In her welcome address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, emphasized the importance of education and awareness in empowering women. She added that BBK DAV College has been a beacon of women’s empowerment for decades, fostering an environment that encourages academic excellence, leadership, and holistic development.
Dr. Sohal gave an inspiring lecture, sharing her experience and insights on the role of women in shaping a progressive society. Her lecture stressed upon the importance of education, legal awareness, and leadership in achieving gender parity.
The event was graced by several prominent women leaders, including Ms. Shelly Behal, President, Human Rights, Ms. Aarti Mahajan, Vice-President, Ms. Geetanjali Sharma, Legal Advisor, Ms. Amandeep Kaur, General Secretary, National Minority Commission.
