Eco Club of BBK DAV College for Women organized an extension lecture under the aegis of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology as the State Nodal Agency and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India as the supporting agency on Environmental Awareness on 30th April, 2024. Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Professor, Department of Botanical and Environmental Science was the resource person for the lecture.
While talking on various aspects of environmental protection, Dr. Jatinder Kaur emphasized the urgent need for concerted and collective action aimed at mitigating the imminent perils confronting our natural surroundings.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the members of the Eco Club for this initiative. In her address, Dr. Walia stressed the pivotal role that sustainable development plays in the preservation and protection of the environment. She elucidated the multifaceted aspects of sustainable development, highlighting its capacity to mitigate environmental degradation while fostering socio-economic progress.
Members of the Eco Club Dr. Rashmi Kalia, Dr. Shweta Mohan, Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal, Ms. Surbhi Sethi and Dr. Sahil Gupta were also present during the event.
The college expressed its gratitude to the Dean of College Development Council, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar for providing support towards this noble cause, and ensuring the success of this initiative.
