Youth Welfare Department of BBK DAV College for Women organized a series of competitions under Y-20 Summit, as directed by Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The competitions were held on the theme ‘Future of Work: Industry 4.0 Innovations & 21st Century Skills’.
Around 120 students from various departments of the college participated in Essay Writing, Declamation, Rangoli Making, Painting, Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competitions. Diviya Khosla, (B.Com. Sem II), Pratibhanoor Kaur, (B.A. Sem II) and Jobanpreet Kaur (M.A. Pbi., Sem IV) along with Komal Churasia (B.A. Sem VI) won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively in the Essay Writing Competition. Samridhi Salwan (M.A. Eng., Sem IV), Shubhneet (B.A. Sem VI) and Mansha Khanna (B.A. Sem VI), Jobandeep Kaur (M.A. Pbi., Sem IV) and Samreen Kaur (B.Sc. Sem II) won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively in the Declamation Competition. Muskan (BFA Sem II) and Shainaa Nayyar (BFA Sem VI), Navjot Kaur (BFA Sem II) and Ritvi Aggarwal (BFA Sem IV), Shivani Rana (BFA Sem II) and Saanya Jain (BFA Applied Arts, Sem IV) won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively in the Poster Making Competition. Pooja (BFA Applied Arts, Sem VIII), Mansirat Kataria (BFA Applied Arts, Sem VIII) and Khushboo (BFA Applied Arts, Sem VI), Shivia Arora (BFA Applied Arts, Sem VI) and Ekamjot Kaur (BFA Applied Arts, Sem VI) won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively in the Slogan Writing Competition. Diksha Sood, Sneha Kumari and Nyasha Pal won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively in the Rangoli Making Competition. Karuna Manocha (MA 4th Sem) and Jahnavi Bhatia (BFA 6th Sem), Divanshi (BFA 4th Sem) as well as Sumedha Jain (BFA 8th Sem), Maneet Kaur (BA 6th Sem) and Krtika Rajput (BFA 4th Sem) won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively in the Painting Competition.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated all the winners and applauded the efforts of Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, for engaging youth in the prestigious Y-20 Summit. She said that it is a valuable opportunity for the young generation to put forth their views and ideas on the key areas of development.
