BBK DAV Collegiate School for Girls organized a declamation contest, in which several students of the school participated. The students could choose any one topic out of the four given to them. The enthusiastic students wonderfully and ardently expressed their thoughts in the language of their choice. They were free to participate in Hindi, Punjabi and English language.
The convenors of the event were Dr. Shelly Jaggi and Mr. Ashok Malhotra. Judges for the contest were Dr. Sunita Sharma, Dr. Shelly Jaggi and Mrs. Jijina Gupta. To motivate the students, their mentors, Dr. Shelly Jaggi, Dr. Sunita Sharma, Mr. Simarjeet and Mr. Jagmeet recited the poems.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the convenors for organizing this contest and said that this contest will help in building-up the confidence of the young orators. The first position was bagged by Jiya of Plus One (Commerce). The second position was secured by Avneet of Plus Two (Arts) and the third position was won by Mehak of Plus One (Arts). Anisha and Savleen got the appreciation prizes. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Mr. Ashok Malhotra. The students and the faculty of the school were also present on the occasion.
