A two weeks’ programme on physical fitness was organised by the Department of Physical Education, BBK DAV College for Women. 50 trainees of B.Voc. attended the fitness programme which was held at two different centres, the programme was designed according to the syllabus of the students. 50 trainees of B.Voc attended the fitness programme which was held at two different centres, the programme was designed according to the syllabus of the students.
The venue for the first week of the programme was Unique Fitness Hub, Majitha Road, Amritsar. Mr. Vipan Kumar, Health expert acquainted the students with the knowledge of Physical Fitness. The programme initiated with practice of warming up and cooling down followed by other exercises such as stretching, conditioning and fitness with machines throughout the week. A complete technical workout session was conducted on the last day of the programme.
The second week of the programme was held at WOW Gym, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar. The programme was conducted under the supervision of professional trainers. The students were introduced with equipments on the first day followed by exercises such as aerobic, anaerobic, weight training, circuit training, fartlek, plyometric, flexibility, weight loss and gain training on the other days of the week. On the last day of the programme, the trainers were given BCAA (protein supplement) along with the complete knowledge pertaining to muscles strengthening supplements by their trainers.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Sh. Kundan Lal, Asstt. Director, MSME Development Institute, Ludhiana and other guests gave their best wishes to the trainees. Dr. Binu Kapoor (Co-ordinator B.Voc), Mrs. Sweety Bala, (Co-ordinator B.Voc) Head Department of Physical Education & teachers Ms. Amandeep Kaur, Ms. Savita Kumari and Ms. Gursharan Kaur were also present during the programme.
