Department of Physics, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar organised a DBT sponsored workshop on “Interesting Aspects of Physics”. The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is well known for popularising science among students and teachers. He is the recipient of many awards such as “Shiksha Ratan”, National Award by Honourable President of India, Multi-Gyan Peeth Purskaar and many more.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh in his workshop gave an insight on the basic concepts of Physics and Mathematics. He demonstrated various important concepts of Physics like Charges, Force, Pressure, Sound, Gravity etc. With the help of his laboratory on wheels, which he carries in his personal car (Jaswins Science Mathematics Laboratory on Wheels). It was a very interesting and interactive workshop with active involvement of students and teachers.
He gave many new ideas and inspired the students to come up with innovative experiments and ideas. He motivated them to have a scientific temperament and make creative use of Physics laws and concepts in their daily activities. He also encouraged students to have inquisitive minds so that they can raise questions and gain more from their teachers.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia welcomed the resource person and presented him a memento. She congratulated Dr. Shweta Mohan, Head, Department of Physics along with faculty members Mrs. Priyanka, Ms. Vandana Rawat and Mrs. Tanvi Mahajan for organising this DBT sponsored workshop.
