In an event held to celebrate International Women’s Day, Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Principal, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, was honoured by S. Amardeep Singh Bains, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Amritsar, in recognition of her exemplary contribution to women’s education and empowerment. The event was organized in collaboration with Legal Action Aid Welfare Association, Amritsar.
While expressing her gratitude, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia stated that this honour was a recognition of the collective efforts of the institution in empowering young women through education, awareness, and value-based learning. She highlighted that International Women’s Day serves as a reminder to reaffirm commitment towards building an inclusive and equitable society where women can thrive with dignity and equal opportunities.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Judicial Magistrate S. Amardeep Singh Bains appreciated Principal Dr. Walia’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to fostering academic excellence and social responsibility among students. He emphasised that educational institutions play a vital role in strengthening awareness about constitutional rights and legal safeguards available to women. He encouraged students to remain informed, confident, and proactive in upholding justice and equality in society.
In addition, the programme was graced by the presence of Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Advisory Committee, and Sh. Sharat Vashisht, Founder, Legal Action Aid Welfare Association, Amritsar, along with faculty members, students, and distinguished guests.
