BBK DAV COLLEGE FOR WOMEN ORGANISES A SPECIAL VEDIC HAVAN YAJNA TO COMMEMORATE THE MARTYRDOM DAY OF SWAMI SHRADDHANAND JI

BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised a special Vedic Havan Yajna to commemorate the Martyrdom Day of Swami Shraddhanand Ji. The holy Havan started with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra. On this occasion, Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Committee, and Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia served as the chief yajman.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, in her welcome address, first thanked God and wished everyone well-being and happiness. She said that Swami Shraddhanand Ji promoted Gurukul education based on the Vedic teachings and principles of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ji and established the Gurukul Kangri in 1902. The purpose of its establishment was to make everyone noble, and the people associated with it are considered the true soldiers of the Arya Samaj established by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ji. The institution provides quality education that has its roots in moral values. Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri Ji, President of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha and DAV Management Committee, New Delhi, has expanded this noble leadership to various branches around the world.

Shri Rakesh Mehra, Secretary, Arya Samaj, Shaktinagar, paid tribute to Swami Shraddhanand Ji, expatiating upon his contribution to society. Mr. Inderpal Arya, President, Arya Samaj, Lakshmansar and member of DAV CMC, said that the Arya Samaj represents a rich lineage of great souls who dedicated their entire lives to the service of society, and emphasized that everyone should draw inspiration from the lives of such eminent personalities.

Adv. Sudarshan Kapoor congratulated Principal Dr. Walia and the staff on the successful conduct of the Havan and emphasized that Swami Shraddhanand Ji devoted his entire life to the service of humanity.

The Department of Music presented a soulful bhajan. The stage was conducted by Dr. Anita Narendra, Convenor, Arya Yuvati Sabha. On this occasion, Shri Pyare Lal Seth, Member, Local Committee, Shri Anil Vinayak, Shri Harish Oberoi, Mrs. Renu Ghai of Arya Samaj, Lawrence Road, along with teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as all the office bearers of the college, were also present.
