BBK DAV COLLEGE FOR WOMEN OBSERVES WORLD AIDS DAY

BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, observed World AIDS Day with the objective of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS and promoting informed and responsible behaviour among youth. A series of activities, including a Rangoli competition, an E-quiz on HIV/AIDS awareness, red ribbon formation, and an awareness rally, were organised by the Red Ribbon Club of the college. Students participated enthusiastically in these activities, and the winners of the competitions were awarded prizes for their commendable performances.

In her address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia emphasised that World AIDS Day serves as an important reminder to dispel misconceptions about HIV/AIDS, promote awareness, and encourage empathy for people living with the condition. She highlighted the pivotal role of educational institutions in empowering youth to become well-informed and socially responsible citizens who show acceptance and understanding towards the challenges faced by affected individuals.

Dr. Anita Narinder, Dean, Community Development Initiatives, Dr. Beenu Kapoor, Convener, Red Cross Unit and Red Ribbon Club, Ms. Akshika Aneja, Lt. Dr. Amandeep Kaur, ANO and Mr. Ashok Malhotra, were also present during the event.
