BBK DAV COLLEGE FOR WOMEN PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL “NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAAN” EVENT AT GNDU

BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar actively participated in the national awareness programme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” held on 18th November 2025 at Guru Nanak Dev University. More than a hundred students of the college, along with faculty members, participated in the programme.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, as part of the nationwide movement to curb substance abuse. The programme was graced by eminent dignitaries including Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Dr. Virendra Kumar, Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and several other senior officials.

As part of the event, participants took a pledge against drug abuse, reaffirming their commitment to contributing to a drug-free Punjab. On the same occasion, the Government of India launched two major portals, the IDAMS Portal and the National Drug Survey Portal, aimed at strengthening national data and awareness systems to combat drug-related issues. The event witnessed the participation of students from various educational institutions across the region, ensuring widespread representation and meaningful engagement.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia conveyed that such initiatives are essential in shaping responsible and aware youth, and she emphasized the institution’s continued dedication to promoting social consciousness and contributing meaningfully to national welfare efforts.

Faculty members, Dr. Poonam Khullar, Dr. Sapna Gupta, Mr. Ashok Malhotra, Dr. Palwinder Singh, and Mrs. Ranjit Kaur attended the event. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, marking a unified resolve toward building a healthier and drug-free society.
