BBK DAV College for Women concluded its Ved Prachar Saptah with a special Vedic Havan Yajna. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia and Advocate Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman of the Local Advisory Committee, served as Yajmans for the Havan Yajna. The week-long programme featured various competitions, including Bhajan Gayan, Poster Making, Painting, and Kavya Path, along with a Workshop on Havan Prashikshan, culminating in the presentation of certificates as well as cash prizes to the winners.
In her welcome address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia emphasized that the college celebrates Ved Prachar Saptah annually to impart Vedic values to students. She added that amidst rapid modernization, spiritual beliefs offer peace and stability, aiding individuals in coping with life’s challenges. She urged students to uphold the guiding principles of Arya Samaj in their day- to-day lives. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor highlighted that Arya Samaj focuses on societal welfare and broader interests rather than ritualistic practices.
A total of 120 students enthusiastically participated in the activities organised under Ved Prachar Saptah. Among them, Vanshika Gupta (BBA Sem. V) secured First position in Poetry Writing, Gaurika (BFA Applied Art Sem I) in Poster Making, Prabhpreet Kaur (BA Sem. I) in Bhajan Singing, Vedita Kapoor (BBA Sem. V) in Essay Writing, and Jannat Negi (+1) in Shloka Chanting Competition, and were awarded with a cash prize of ₹1000 along with a certificate. Other winning participants were also felicitated with certificates. All the cash prizes were sponsored by Sh. Anil Vinayak Ji, Member, Arya Samaj, Lawrence Road in the loving memory of his father.
The event was attended by Sh. Inderpal Arya (Member, DAV College Managing Committee), members of Arya Samaj, including Sh. Rakesh Mehra, Sh. Anil Vinayak, Col. Ved Mitter, Sh. Krishan Dev, Sh. Jawaharlal, Sh. Deepak Mahajan, Sh. Gaurav Talwar, Smt. Kiran, Smt. Rajni as well as members of Local Advisory Committee, Sh. Pyare Lal Ji Seth, Mrs. Balbir Kaur Bedi and Dr. Pallavi Sethi, Principal DAV Public School, along with the staff and the students.
