BBK DAV College for Women Principal, Dr. Pushpinder Walia, has been conferred with the Eco-Visionary Leadership Award 2026 in recognition of her exemplary leadership, progressive vision, and unwavering commitment to promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility on campus. The award was presented in context of the Green Bharat Two-Week Impact Challenge (From Green Actions to Sustainable Living), organised by National EduTrust of India.
The institution was also honoured with the Sustainable Campus Award 2026 for its significant contribution to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Expressing her gratitude, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia thanked Mr. Samarth Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, National EduTrust of India, for the recognition and for leading initiatives that encourage educational institutions to contribute actively towards a sustainable future. She noted that such accolades motivate both faculty and students to adopt meaningful practices for environmental conservation.
Student achievements were also recognised, with 116 participants honoured with the Sustainability Champion Award for their active engagement and meaningful contributions to the challenge.
Dr. Surbhi Dhir and Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal, Nodal Officers, were honoured with the Sustainability Mentor Award 2026 for their dedicated guidance and successful execution of sustainability-focused activities.
The awards were received in the presence of Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director, Amritsar Group of Colleges, and Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairperson, Local Advisory Committee, who commended the institution’s commitment to environmental responsibility and its proactive efforts in fostering sustainable practices among students.
