BBK DAV College for Women organised a workshop on Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs/Startups was conducted under the “Entrepreneurship and Startup” theme on 20th February 2025 in the laboratories of Post-Graduate Department of Computer Science and Applications. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Prabhjeet Singh, Marketing Professional and Growth Hacker, AOSC Technologies, Amritsar.
The objective of the workshop was to equip participants with essential skills in market analysis, branding, digital marketing, and customer relationship management. Experts with experience in sales, marketing, and leadership roles in startups or established businesses were invited to share their insights.
The workshop centred on the transformative role of AI in digital marketing, showcasing tools like Adobe Express for video and content creation, ChatGPT for generating script ideas and writing, Durable AI for website creation, and Futurepedia as a comprehensive repository of AI tools. It also emphasized strategic marketing approaches and innovative sales techniques, providing students with insights on effectively positioning their ventures in competitive markets.
Students gained industry-relevant knowledge, including understanding their target market through techniques like customer personas and competitor analysis, identifying ideal customer profiles, and recognizing the importance of product-market fit in sales and marketing success.
The workshop further explored building a winning marketing strategy, covering branding and positioning for startups, digital marketing essentials such as SEO and social media, growth hacking techniques for rapid customer acquisition, and the balance between paid and organic marketing strategies.
Additionally, it delved into sales strategies tailored for startups, including the startup sales funnel, cold outreach versus inbound sales, crafting compelling sales pitches, and mastering the art of closing deals while handling objections. Overall, the session equipped students with practical tools and strategies to navigate the complexities of marketing and sales in the startup ecosystem.
The workshop provided valuable practical knowledge on building effective sales and marketing strategies, ensuring participants gained a comprehensive understanding of business growth techniques. Interactive discussions, case studies, and real-world examples enriched the learning experience. The event received positive feedback, highlighting its role in enhancing entrepreneurial skills and preparing participants for market challenges.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia lauded the initiative of Institute’s Innovation Council. She added that such workshops should be organised from time to time to keep the students updated with the latest developments in the technology.
The workshop was conducted in offline mode, with the participation of approximately 90 students and 20 faculty members.
