BBK DAV College for Women is conferred with prestigious Green Champion ‘One District One Green Champion Award’ by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Digital Education, Ministry Of Education, Government of India in recognition of various activities and achievements in the field of water conservation, cleanliness and successful implementation of sawachhta action plan This award is given to only one institution per district.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia received the award at the office of Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar. While receiving the award Principal, Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that college has been conducting Sawachhta Pakhwada since 2014, under which a SAP committee has also been constituted to look after activities of cleanliness, Water conservation, waste management, recycling, energy management etc. Dr. Walia added that during covid crisis college laid special emphasis on sanitization and hygiene. College faculty has been involved actively in implementation of pandemic guidelines.
While congratulating Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Khaira, said that BBK DAV College has always been at forefront for the issues related to cleanliness and environmental conservation. So it’s a proud moment for district administration to give this award to such prestigious organization.
