BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar organized a special COVID-19 Vaccination drive for its employees in collaboration with District Health Officials. Dr. Charanjeet Singh, Civil Surgeon, inaugurated the camp. Dr. Charanjeet Singh remarked that vaccination is highly desirable step to combat virus and also stated that all must follow all safety precautions. The Nodal officer, Mobile vaccination, Dr. Neelam Bhagat, along with her team Mrs. Manjit Kaur and Mrs. Kulwinder Kaur, Multipurpose Health Workers and Mrs. Simranjit Kaur, Asha Worker conducted the camp and motivated all beneficiaries to follow safety measures even after the vaccination.
Dr. Pushpinder Walia welcomed the health officers and appreciated their efforts to organize COVID-19 vaccination drive. She referred to Health Workers as Corona Warriors who are doing their maximum, while putting their own life at risk, to save the lives of people. Principal Dr. Walia motivated the teaching and non-teaching faculty members to actively participate in this vaccination drive launched by the Government of India. She further stated that all of us should follow the guidelines issued by the Government such as wearing a mask and maintaining social distance.
During this vaccination drive a total of 100 people from the college as well as DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, received their first dosage of COVID-19 Vaccine.
