BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar organized a seminar on “The Shift: From Job Seekers to Self-Employed, Entrepreneurs and Job Creators” as a part of the series of Y20 Consultation Programme being run by Social Entrepreneurship, Swachhta and Rural Engagement Cell under the aegis of MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Dr. Hemant Kumar Vinayak, Associate Professor, Rural Development Department, National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Chandigarh was the resource person.
At the outset, Dr. Hemant Kumar Vinayak acquainted the students with the various schemes launched by the Government of India, such as Agnipath Scheme, PM Matsya Yojna and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). He also cited the example of Rupsi Garg, Associate director, Kheti Virasat Mission, who stands as an example for the revival and upliftment of rural artisans, thus generating employment opportunities for the rural community. He concluded his speech by urging the students to come to the forefront,be innovators and contribute to the development of rural Indian Community.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia motivated the students to focus on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship and become self-reliant in life. She also felicitated the college’s Unnat Bharat Cell on successfully conducting the event.
On this occasion Dr. Anita Narendra, Ms. Surbhi Sethi, Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal, Dr. Sushil Kumar, Mr. Hardeep Singh, Dr. Palwinder and Ms. Ravinderpal Kaur were also present.
