BBK DAV College for Women organised a commemorative lecture to mark the birth anniversary of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The resource person was Prof. Dr. Baijnath Prasad, Former Head and Professor, Deptt. of Hindi, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia welcomed the guest with a memento. Speaking on the topic “The Contribution of Swami Dayanand Saraswati Towards National Awakening”, Dr. Prasad elaborated that Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati should be remembered not merely as a founder of Arya Samaj but for his massive role as social reformer and nation builder as well. The present generation needs to be acquainted with his spirit of sacrifice, asceticism and hard labour to seek inspiration from his life. He also exhorted the students to follow in the footsteps of great women like Sita, Gargi and Kaikayi. Prof. Renu Vashisht proposed the vote of thanks. Present on the occasion were Dr. Anita Narender as compere, Prof. Anu Khanna, Dr. Gauri Chawla and a big number of students.
