In an effort to create awareness about breast cancer, a free mammography camp was organized for the women above the age of 40 years by BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar. The camp was organized in collaboration with Rotary Club, Amritsar, Inner Wheel Club, Amritsar and other sister clubs. A bus equipped with the latest testing techniques and a team of doctors and nurses was stationed in the college campus for the same.
While inaugurating the camp, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that awareness and timely diagnosis can help in treating and overcoming the challenges of breast cancer, she emphasized the need to spread awareness on issues concerning women’s health.
Ms. Reeta Sharma, President Rotary Club, Amritsar said that Rotary Club, Amritsar always remains at the fore front for the betterment of the society. She added that mammography van can help the women of remote areas and underprivileged sections of the society to get their disease detected and treated in time.
Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee, along with other members of college faculty and Rotary Club, were also present during the event.
