BBK DAV College for Women celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervor, with Col. Amandeep Singh Aulakh, Sena Medal Commanding Officer, 1 Pb. Girls Bn, NCC, Amritsar, as the chief guest for the ceremony.
The day began with the hoisting of the national flag followed by an oath taking ceremony, and an impressive parade by the NCC Cadets of the college. A street play named ‘Jo Kabhi Laut Ke Ghar na aaye’ showcasing the bravery and sacrifice of the gallant soldiers and their families was presented during the ceremony.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the staff and students of the college on this auspicious day and said that the youth should follow the ideals set by the great freedom fighters of our country and work diligently to lead the nation towards success, peace and prosperity. While addressing the gathering, chief guest Col. Amandeep Singh Aulakh, highlighted the contribution of family support in soldier’s life. He said that families of the soldiers give them strength to fight at the borders with courage and bravery. The ceremony concluded with a tree plantation drive by the NSS unit of the college.
