BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar celebrated 25th anniversary of Pokhran-II, an important landmark in India’s journey to become a nuclear power. Cadets of Army Wing, 1 Punjab Girls Battalion, NCC, Amritsar, prepared models of nuclear power plants and gave a comprehensive presentation on the same.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia highlighted the importance of Pokhran-II nuclear tests that saw India re-imaging itself in the emerging global strategic landscape and also paved the way for India’s `No First Use’ policy. The Principal also acknowledged the efforts of Lt. Dr. Amandeep Kaur in organizing such events that mark a milepost in the Indian history.
