BBK DAV College for Women organised a special Havan to mark the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Anand Swami Ji. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, LMC, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Mr. Hira Lala Kandhari, Mr. Rakesh Mehra, members of Arya Samaj, Mrs. Balbir Kaur Bedi, Principal Dr. Neera Sharma and Principal Ms. Indu participated in the holy Havan.
While addressing the students, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that Mahatma Shri Anand Swami Ji was a great scholar, who during his journey of life, studied holy scriptures and wrote many spiritual books. In these books, he highlighted the ways to achieve salvation. She further said that in today’s world, one is running after materialistic things, rather than building a strong relationship with God.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that Mahatma Anand Swami Ji was a great supporter of women education and empowerment and she further added that BBK DAV College for Women is always committed to his ideals.
In this context, Principal gave information about DBT Grant received by the college under Star Status Award. Students from the Medical, Non-Medical and Biotechnology streams will get support of Rupees 1.59 Crores for three years. She congratulated and honoured Dr. Poonam Khullar and her team for this great achievement.
Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, LMC motivated the students to follow the traditions and values set up by the DAV institutions and bring laurels to their alma mater. He also said that the students seek inspiration from the life of great people like Mahatma Anand Swami Ji. The Department of Music presented a melodious bhajan on this occasion.
The Havan was attended by Dr. Anita Narendra, Mrs. Renu Vashisth, Mrs. Poonam Kohli, Dr. Ritu Sharma, Dr. Neetu Bala, Mrs. Sapna Gupta, Dr. Rani, Dr. Sunita Sharma, Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal, other teaching as well as non-teaching faculty, along with a large number of students.
