NSS units of BBK DAV College for Women organized an awareness seminar on Traffic Rules, Women Safety, Drug Effects and Human Trafficking on the third day of special seven days NSS camp.
The dignitaries included Inspector Paramjit Singh, Saanjh Kendra Incharge, South, Inspector Parshotam Singh, Saanjh Kendra Incharge, East and H.C. Salwant Singh from Traffic Education Cell, Amritsar.
Inspector Paramjit Singh acquainted students with 43 facilities provided by Saanjh Kendra and the bad effects of drugs. Students were also familiarized with Pick and Drop facility provided to women during night time, detrimental effects of Chinese kite string, human trafficking, how to be vigilant about fake agents, what are the right means to go abroad, traffic awareness rules and how road accidents occur and what are the precautions to be taken to avoid these accidents. Apart from all this, students were made aware about newly issued Motor Vehicle Act, Emergency Number 112 and how to protect our environment and conserve water.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia encouraged volunteers to follow traffic rules sincerely. On this occasion, NSS Program officer Ms. Priya Sharma and other team members Ms. Neha Sehgal and Ms. Priyanka Chug were also present.
