NSS Unit of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organized a Dental Awareness and Check-up Camp on the occasion of NSS Day, under the aegis of the national campaign “Swachchhata Hi Seva Hai”.
The camp aimed to highlight the crucial link between personal hygiene and oral health as a fundamental part of overall cleanliness and Dr. Charu Dewan, a renowned Endodontist and Smile Specialist, as well as the proprietor of Dewan’s Dental Care, conducted the camp.
In her address, Dr. Dewan emphasized the importance of preventive dental care and educated students about daily oral hygiene practices. She also conducted free consultation for students and staff, supported by her clinical team.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia appreciated the initiative and stated that such community-driven health activities reflect the college’s commitment to holistic education and social responsibility. She lauded the efforts of the NSS team for organizing a meaningful event that aligns with both the values of the NSS and the government’s Swachhta Mission.
Ms. Surbhi Sethi, NSS Programme Officer, also addressed the students on the occasion. She spoke about the significance of community service and elaborated on the motto of NSS – “Not Me, But You”, encouraging students to actively engage in selfless service for societal well-being.
Ms. Surbhi Sethi and Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal, NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Shweta Mohan, Department of Physics and Ms. Sumera Narang, member, NSS Committee, were also present on the occasion.
