PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organized an insightful workshop on the theme “Beyond Funding: Soft Skills for Startup” under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of Education Initiative) to commemorate World Entrepreneurship Day.
The workshop aimed to highlight the significance of entrepreneurship in shaping the nation’s future and to equip students with practical exposure to funding avenues and entrepreneurial ventures. Dr. Neetu Bala, Dr. Reema Bedi, Ms. Mandeep Sodhi, Ms. Surbhi Sethi, and Ms. Aditi Kapoor from the PG Department of Commerce welcomed the guests and participants, setting the tone for an engaging and informative session.
The resource persons for the event were Mr. Prabhjeet Singh, Chief Marketing Officer, Ms. Nanki Walia, Learning and Development Head; and Ms. Arya Kapur, Digital Marketing Executive at AOSC Technologies.
Mr. Prabhjeet Singh discussed various business opportunities and the evolving corporate landscape, while Ms. Arya Kapur, an alumna of the Commerce Department (2022–25), shared her professional journey, emphasizing the need to integrate technical knowledge with soft skills to thrive in corporate settings.
Ms. Nanki Walia provided valuable insights into the role of angel investors and venture capitalists, elaborating on how entrepreneurs can approach investors, prepare business plans, and communicate ideas effectively to secure funding.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia applauded the efforts of the department and congratulated the team for organizing such an informative and enriching workshop.
