BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, actively participated in the ‘Unity March’ Pad Yatra organized to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, whose vision and leadership laid the foundation for national integration and unity. The march, symbolizing patriotism and collective strength, commenced at 6:40 a.m. from Company Bagh and concluded at Gandhi Ground, Amritsar, bringing together students and faculty members in a vibrant display of solidarity.
The event was organized under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, with coordination and support from Ms. Jasleen Kaur, Deputy Director, My Bharat Initiative (Amritsar) and was flagged off by ADC Mr. Rohit Gupta, who encouraged the participants to uphold the ideals of unity, integrity, and civic duty exemplified by Sardar Patel.
A large number of students from the college took part in the march, accompanied by faculty members Ms. Shaifali Johar, Dr. Amandeep Kaur and Dr. Palwinder Singh. The participants carried placards and banners highlighting the message of “Ekta Mein Shakti Hai” (Strength in Unity), reaffirming their commitment to the spirit of national solidarity.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia lauded the efforts of the students and faculty for their enthusiastic participation, emphasizing that the Unity March was a befitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s legacy. She noted that such initiatives instil in students a strong sense of patriotism, discipline, and social responsibility.
