BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organized a special Havan Yajna on the beginning of the new semester to seek Divine blessings for a successful and purposeful year ahead. Amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras and offerings in the sacred fire, Adv. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairperson, Local Advisory Committee, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, along with members of the Local Advisory Committee and the teaching and non-teaching staff, prayed for the progress, prosperity, and holistic development of the college.
In her address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia invoked the prayer “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (May all be happy) and expressed her gratitude to the Almighty. She emphasized the importance of incorporating Vedic principles and spiritual values into daily life and encouraged students to cultivate a sense of gratitude for the opportunities and blessings bestowed upon them. She urged the students to begin the new semester with commitment, optimism, and moral responsibility, expressing confidence in the college’s pursuit of excellence. Highlighting the achievements of the institution, Principal Dr. Walia proudly announced that the research paper of college student Ms. Anjali Sharma (B.Sc. Biotechnology, Semester I) has been accepted by the U.R. Rao Satellite Centre, Department of Space, Government of India.
Sh. Inderpal Arya from Arya Samaj, Lakshmansar, congratulated the Principal on this auspicious occasion. In his address, he highlighted the pivotal role of Arya Samaj in advancing women’s education and inspired students to uphold ethical conduct while preserving cultural traditions and heritage.
Adv. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairperson, Local Advisory Committee, thanked all the dignitaries, staff members, and students for their presence and extended his blessings to the students for a successful academic journey. The program also featured a rendition of a soulful bhajan by the Department of Music.
Members of Arya Samaj including Shri Rakesh Mehra and Shri Sandeep Ahuja, Arya Samaj, Shakti Nagar, Shri Anil Vinayak, Arya Samaj, Lawrence Road, along with Mrs. Balbir Kaur Bedi, Principal Dr. Pallavi Sethi, and all the office bearers as well as members of Arya Yuvti Sabha of the college were also present on the occasion. The Havan concluded with the distribution of Prasad.
