BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organized a special Vedic Havan Yajna to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati ji. Dr. Ramesh Arya, Vice-President, DAV College Managing Committee, was the yajman for the Havan Yajna.
The Havan began with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra and culminated with a bhajan performed by the Department of Music. In her address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia expressed her gratitude to the divine with the invocation “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah”. She said that in a world overshadowed by darkness, Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji emerged as a beacon of wisdom, dispelling ignorance and eradicating social evils. Under his guidance, Arya Samaj cultivated a spirit of philanthropy. Principal Dr. Walia urged students to embrace his teachings and uphold his values.
In his speech, Dr. Ramesh Arya inspired students to work diligently and pray with unwavering dedication. He stressed that true success comes from aligning words with actions, highlighting that consistency is the key to achievement.
Shri Inderpal Arya from Arya Samaj, Lakshmansar, motivated students to appreciate the richness of Indian history, culture, and traditions. He exhorted them to honour the contribution of Swami Dayanand Ji and incorporate the ten principles of Arya Samaj into their daily lives.
The Havan was attended by various esteemed members of Arya Samaj including Shri Rakesh Mehra, Shri Sandeep Ahuja, Shri Gaurav Talwar, Mrs. and Mr. Atul Mehra, Shri Indarjeet Thukral, Smt. Renu Ghai, Mrs. and Mr. Harish Oberoi, Shri Anil Vinayak, along with the students and staff members of the college.
