BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised an online National Seminar “Innovative Pathways for a Sustainable Future: Bridging Environment, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability” in collaboration with the National EduTrust of India. The aim of the seminar was to provide a platform to academicians and researchers to exchange ideas on integrating environment, entrepreneurship, and sustainability in the modern era.
In her inaugural address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia emphasized the importance of sustainability in today’s world. She highlighted how adopting sustainable practices enhances efficiency, reduces waste, and drives cost savings, ultimately boosting profitability. By integrating sustainability into their core strategies, businesses can achieve a balance between economic growth, environmental responsibility, and social well-being, paving the way for a resilient and prosperous future. She also congratulated convenors of the seminar Dr. Simardeep, Ms Surbhi Sethi and Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal on successfully organizing this seminar.
While delivering his keynote address, Dr. Rishi Raj Sharma, Professor of Business Management and Dean at Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Gurdaspur, underscored the relevance of Vedic values in promoting sustainability. Citing slokas and examples, he encouraged adopting sustainable approaches in life and business, emphasizing individual responsibility and integrity as essential principles.
Around 60 academicians and researchers presented research papers on various themes, such as, environment, entrepreneurship, sustainability, NEP 2020, and artificial intelligence and skill development in the technical sessions. These technical sessions were chaired by Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Dr. Rishi Raj Sharma, Mr. Samarth Sharma, CEO of the National EduTrust of India, and Dr. Simardeep, Head, Department of Psychology of the college.
Ms. Binnie Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, proposed a vote of thanks. Participants from various institutions, along with college faculty members and students, enthusiastically attended the seminar.
