BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organised the Felicitation Ceremony in collaboration with National EduTrust of India registered under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, to recognise the youth’s contribution to sustainability on National Youth Day. Mr. Surinder Singh, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amritsar, was the chief guest for the programme.
In his motivational address, Mr. Surinder Singh foregrounded the importance of empowering youth for the sustainable future. He also added that National Youth Day is an occasion that celebrates the contributions of young individuals and recognises their potential to create a more sustainable and inclusive world.
During her speech, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia dwelt upon the need for equipping young people with the tools to promote sustainable development to safeguard our future. She also thanked National EduTrust of India for giving BBK DAV College the opportunity to conduct this ceremony to mark the National Youth Day.
In addition, National EduTrust of India honoured Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia with the Award of Honour for Best Principal for her outstanding contribution and exceptional leadership in promoting environmental sustainability, skill-based education and youth empowerment through the Skill-to-Entrepreneurship Programme 2024-25. Subsequently, Ms. Surbhi Sethi and Dr.. Nidhi Aggarwal, Nodal Officers, were given the Award of Honour for Best Nodal Officer in recognition of their contribution to environmental sustainability. Ten students were also awarded certificates for performing in the nukkad natak based on promoting sustainable environmental practices.
During the function, a poster of 30- day Fitness Challenge was launched. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Committee, proposed the vote of thanks. After the awards ceremony, a nukkad natak with the theme “Echoes of Change: A Tale of Environmental Conservation” was presented, urging youth to save the environment.
Mr. Samarth Sharma, CEO, National EduTrust of India, felicitated Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia and the organising team on the successful conduct of the event.
