BBK DAV COLLEGE FOR WOMEN ORGANISES A SPECIAL LECTURE TO COMMEMORATE THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHATMA SWAMI SHRADDHANAND SARASWATI JI

The Arya Yuvati Sabha of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, organized a special lecture to commemorate the auspicious birth anniversary of the great patriot, educationist, and social reformer Mahatma Swami Shraddhanand Saraswati ji. The event aimed to inspire students by reflecting upon the life, ideals, and invaluable contributions of the revered leader. Padma Shri Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala, was the chief guest for the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia remarked that celebrating the birth anniversaries of great personalities is not merely an act of remembrance, but a meaningful opportunity to imbibe their values and ideals in our daily lives. She encouraged students to draw inspiration from Mahatma Swami Shraddhanand Saraswati Ji’s unwavering commitment to national service, social reform, and Vedic education.

In his keynote address, Padma Shri Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi elaborated upon the life and legacy of Mahatma Swami Shraddhanand Saraswati ji, describing him as a remarkable example of sacrifice, courage, and patriotism. He highlighted Swami ji’s dedication to national awakening, promotion of education, and eradication of social evils and also emphasised that many of his principles get reflected in the present National Education Policy of the country, thus resonating with the educational philosophy propounded by Mahatma Swami Shraddhanand Saraswati ji. Lastly, he urged the youth to internalise his ideals and contribute actively towards nation-building.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Anita Narendra, Head, Department of Hind. Members of the Arya Yuvati Sabha, office bearers, faculty members, and students were also present during the event.
