BBK DAV College for Women organised the 7th National Sikh Yoga Championship 2025 in collaboration with the Yoga Sports Association, Amritsar, under the guidance of the Yoga Society of Punjab on 14 December 2025.
Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Principal, BBK DAV College for Women, was honoured as the Chief Guest during a solemn ceremony dedicated to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The event paid tribute to the supreme sacrifice of the ninth Sikh Guru, whose life and martyrdom remain a timeless symbol of courage, righteousness, and the defence of human rights.
Principal Dr. Walia was honoured in recognition of her exemplary contribution to education, her commitment to value-based learning, and her consistent efforts to promote ethical, spiritual, and holistic development among students. The Sikh National Yoga Organisation lauded her leadership in nurturing socially responsible citizens inspired by the ideals of service, sacrifice, and harmony.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pushpinder Walia expressed her gratitude and remarked that the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji continues to inspire generations to uphold truth, justice, and freedom of belief. She further emphasised that educational institutions play a vital role in instilling these enduring values among the youth.
The championship witnessed the participation of 205 students from nine states across India. Punjab emerged as the overall champion, while Rajasthan secured the runners-up position, and Himachal Pradesh was declared the second runners-up.
