To mark the conclusion of National Science Week, a valedictory session was held at BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar. Prof. Anish Dua, from Department of Zoology, Guru Nanak Dev University, was the resource person for the Valedictory session. In his address, Prof. Dua said that science and technology has come a long way in last fifty years. Information and Technology has revolutionized the world like never before. Due to IT, students can have access to the global libraries at their fingertips. They can explore and retrieve the required knowledge in no time. He advised students that they should choose a particular subject only if they have deep inclination toward that subject. Before making any choice, students should recognize their interest first and then should start working for it. Students need to diagnose their strengths as strengths lead us toward the success.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the Department of Science for successfully organizing the Science week. She said that this week is being organized as the part of 75th year of independence ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. She added that such kind of activities help in developing scientific temper, attitude and open mindedness among the students. And our college has always been a forerunner in developing scientific aptitude amongst its students.
It is pertinent to note that during the week long activities, various competitions like Model Display, Quiz Competition, Declamation, Rangoli Making, Poster Making, Collage Making etc. were organized.
