BBK DAV College for Women came alive with colours, music, and traditional fervour as the college celebrated the festival of Teej with great enthusiasm. Dr. Shikha Baghi, Founder and Managing Director, Timeless Aesthetics, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The celebrations commenced with the performance of a spirited Giddha by students from the Youth Welfare Department, beautifully embodying the cultural heritage and joyous spirit of Punjab. The festival not only aimed to preserve the rich traditions of the region but also to provide a platform for young women to reconnect with their cultural roots.
In her address, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia articulated the cultural and social relevance of Teej in the Punjabi context, portraying it as a vibrant expression of unity, femininity, and regional heritage. She further emphasized the festival’s importance in sustaining the cultural fabric of the community and the responsibility of passing these values on to future generations.
Dr. Shikha Baghi, in her speech, highlighted the crucial role of education and empowerment in transforming the lives of women. She stated that educated and empowered women form the cornerstone of a progressive society. While honoring traditions, it is equally important to ensure that women have equal opportunities to learn, lead, and excel.
